How to Register and Activate your account:

Note: Registration and use of this site is one hundred percent FREE. We use your e-mail address as a way to activate your account and to inform you when we hear of new scholarships- not to send you promotional materials.

1. On the home page, click the Directory button in the top right corner.  Then, next to the large lettered NO on the following page, click on the link to take me to the subscription page.

2. Scroll down to the Subscriber Form and fill out all the information fields. VERY IMPORTANT - Be sure to use an e-mail account you can access. Even if you are not the one who will be applying for a scholarship, use your own e-mail address.

3. Click on the Send My Form button.

4. CHECK YOUR E-MAIL. You must check your e-mail to activate your account. Without doing so you will not be allowed to access the scholarship application information.

5. You will have an e-mail with the subject New Scholarships For Hispanics Subscriber. Once you open it, and scroll halfway down, there will be a note: To activate your subscription go to… Click the link below.

6. This will take you back to the website, where there will be a button that says Activate My Account. Click the button.

7. You are now a registered user of our site. Remember your user name and password to login each and every time you visit the site. Without logging in you will not be able to view the information of any of the financial resources. As noted above, you will on occasion be receiving newsletter updates from our site. These will only come when we have received information of a new scholarship that we think our users should know about. Enjoy!

How To Search

1. Once you activate your account you will be sent directly to the search page. This search has access to more than 1,000 financial resources we have in our database. Note that not all scholarships are open specifically to Hispanics. Many are more general minority scholarships and many are open to the general public. However, it is often the case that we at the Hispanic Press Foundation have been contacted by the founders of these scholarships because they are very interested in awarding deserving Hispanics.

2. If you are revisiting the website, click the directory button along the top of the home page and then enter your username and password in the fields provided to access our database.

3. All fields can be left blank. By entering information in any or all the fields your search will be more specific.

4. Scholarship - if you know of a specific scholarship, or key words within the name of that scholarship, enter it here. If you are not seeking a specific scholarship, but are looking for a list of scholarships that you could apply for, leave this field empty.

5. Type - this field allows you to search for resources from a specific type of institution. For instance, if you are interested in resources offered by a non-profit organization, a business, or a government agency, you could specify here.

6. Citizenship - here you have the option of looking for scholarships open exclusively to US citizens or non US citizens. By leaving the button set to all, you will receive information on both.

7. Field of Study - if you have a field of study or interest you may enter it here. Broader fields, such as journalism or art, work much better than more specific fields like reporting or sculpture. However, you may search as specifically as you wish.

8. Deadline - if you are looking only for scholarships with a specific deadline you may enter the month here.

9. State - to search in a specific state, select it here.

10. College - this allows you to search for resources offered by a specific college or University.

11. Click the search button to display your search.

How To Apply

1. Once you have searched you will be presented with a list of up to 20 financial resources. If your search acquired more than 20 results, there will be sections at the bottom of your search by which you can view the rest of your results in groups of 20.

2. To view details on a specific scholarship click on it’s name.

3. NOTE- if you never activated your account, or did not login, you will not be able to access the details of a scholarship. You will need to register and activate, or if already registered, login to view this information.

4. Each resource has a page of details on who the scholarship is available to, the deadline, and application information.

5. For the majority of the scholarships in this database, you will need to click on a link to the scholarship website to access full application information. If no link is provided, go back to whatever web browser you use and type in the name of the scholarship.

6. NOTE- If for some reason, you cannot find the scholarship on the web, we sincerely apologize. It may be the case, that in the six years we’ve been gathering this information that some of our resources are no longer giving and have not notified us. We urge you to contact us if this is the case so we may remove the listing from our database.
